Roadmap for health and well-being in the Western Balkans (2026–2030)

Overview

This Roadmap builds on the first Roadmap for the subregion: the Roadmap for health and well-being in the Western Balkans (2021–2025) and its evaluation – conducted between May and August 2025 – which generated inputs and recommended actions to shape the new Roadmap. This Roadmap constitutes the high-level strategic framework for 2026–2030 for the Western Balkans, defining the vision and purpose, setting the strategic objectives and outlining guiding principles. These elements, together with the technical priorities, and the implementation, monitoring, governance, coordination and accountability mechanisms described herein, are the result of an inclusive process of interviews and consultations with the Western Balkan countries, territories and areas, partners, and the technical divisions and country offices of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, undertaken both during the evaluation and throughout the development of the present Roadmap.
