The rapid digital transformation in health is reshaping the future of health systems and the global health workforce. At the same time, global surgery remains an essential yet underrepresented component of universal health coverage, requiring strong advocacy, research, and education to advance equity and access.
Youth play a pivotal role in both areas. The WHO Youth Council, the Digital Transformations for Health Lab (DTH-Lab), and InciSioN (an international network of over 10,000 students and young professionals in surgery, organized into regional working groups) share a vision of empowering and mentoring the future health workforce. Together, they are uniquely positioned to bridge the digital health transformation agenda with the global surgery movement.
This webinar aims to strengthen youth understanding of theDigital Determinants of Health (DDoH) and their intersection with global surgery, while equipping participants with tools to integrate digital innovations and advocacy strategies into their own work.
This webinar aims to:
- Increase knowledge of the DDoH and their relevance to global surgery among students and young professionals.
- Highlight the importance of meaningful youth inclusion in shaping the future of surgical care and digital health.
- Create a space for cross-learning between members of InciSioN, the WHO Youth Council, and DTH-Lab.
