Background
In June 2026, WHO published its first comprehensive Guidelines for the Clinical Management of Filovirus Disease, covering disease caused by Ebola, Sudan, Bundibugyo, Taï Forest and Marburg viruses. The guidelines provide 16 evidence-based recommendations on supportive care and clinical management, reflecting lessons learned from recent outbreaks and emphasizing the critical role of early, high-quality patient-centred care in improving survival and recovery.
Objectives
To launch and disseminate the new WHO Guidelines for the Clinical Management of Filovirus Disease, highlighting evidence-based recommendations that can improve patient survival and quality of care during filovirus outbreaks.
