Service Delivery and Quality
Supports Member States to design and build integrated health service delivery models that support people’s journey through a well-coordinated, inclusive network of safe care, including informal sectors.

The Service Delivery and Quality (SDQ) unit supports Member States to design and build integrated health service delivery models that support people’s journey through well-coordinated, inclusive network of safe care including informal sectors.

This is accomplished through:

  • Strengthening primary health care and integrated service delivery by supporting the reorganization of health services across all levels of care – from primary care to hospitals – to be more accessible, coordinated, and responsive to people’s needs.
  • Improving patient safety and quality of care by supporting system-wide efforts in performance improvement, infection prevention and control, emergency and critical surgical care, safe clinical practice, leadership and management for continuous quality improvement.
  • Integrating traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine by supporting Member States to develop policies and regulatory frameworks that incorporate traditional medicine into national health systems and integrated services.
  • Advancing rehabilitation, disability, and long-term care by supporting countries to improve access to evidence-based rehabilitation, disability inclusion and long-term care as part of comprehensive and people-centred care.
